Pacific
Islanders
Media Release
Update
- 10 November
The Digicel Pacific Islanders had a relaxing day following a short
and sharp Captain’s Run at the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff
today.
It was the players’ first visit to the Stadium since they
watched last weekend’s Test between Australia and Wales. Tomorrow
will be very different as it is the Digicel Pacific Islanders themselves
who will be centre stage.
Prop Justin Va’a who has played in a few large stadia in his
career was in awe of the surface and the venue:
“This is one of, if not the best ground in the world. I love
playing here and I love the atmosphere generated by the Welsh crowd
“I am really looking forward to my debut with the Pacific
Islanders team and matching it with Chris Horsman”.
After the Captain’s Run there was time for a few photos and
it was back to the hotel. Later a few players headed to Cardiff
Castle and some of the other sights of this historic city.
The hotel fax continues to churn out messages to the Digicel Pacific
Islanders and the email has been even busier. Media Manager Dave
Arthur said:
“The players love the messages of support not only from back
home but all over the world.
The boys are very aware of the massive support from the nations
that comprise the Digicel Pacific Islanders and dearly want to play
well on Saturday afternoon”.
