Hard running workhorse with a solid tackle and great all-round commitment. Became a hero in Fiji when he scored the winning try in sudden-death extra-time to knock South Africa out of the San Diego 7s when Fiji were down to six players.

Volavola played outstandingly in Nadroga's win of the Sanyo Cup and Farebrother in 2006. He was rewarded with the captaincy role for the Digicel Fiji 7s team to Dubai and George 7s in December 2006.
